Smallformatdance18: Kitsune and The Burning Violin is participating here
We are showing the performance „Tristeza“, which is inspired by the life and art of the german dancer Dore Hoyer (1911-1957). Only one film exists of one of her dance works. Especially the expressive black and white photos from her dance „Die erhabene Trauer“ and the story of her tragic life beside the abysm has led us to this work. Dore Hoyer could never bear the suicide of her first love, the composer Peter Cieslak. There were years of high appreciation of her dance in Germany before the Second World War and in Brazil and Argentina during the repression of Arts in Nazi regime and afterwards in the German Democratic Republic (DDR).
